Realistic Fishing
Charge the cast on a power meter, watch the bobber through a few nibbles and set the hook when it really goes under. Then fight it: keep the line tension in the green while the fish runs, and land it before it snaps the line or throws the hook.
Fishing for Qbox servers that plays like the real thing. Every catch is rolled on the server with its own weight, length and grade, and the biggest ones set server records.

Features
- Power-meter casting — hold E to charge, let go at the top of the swing for a long cast.
- Nibbles and real bites — a few fake-outs before the bite, and a short hookset window when it really goes under.
- Tension fights — reel to keep tension in the green, ease off on runs. Snapped lines lose lures.
- Sized and graded catches — weight, length and a grade from Small to Trophy on every fish. Price scales with size.
- 21 species — lakes, rivers, piers, surf and deep sea, each with favorite baits, plus night and rain bonuses.
- Deep sea — fish from a boat offshore, with a boat anchor item.
- Poaching — protected species bite mostly by the carrier. Landing one can call the police, and only the Dockside Buyer takes them, at night, for marked bills.
- Levels 1 to 30 — faster bites, better rare odds, fewer junk catches and a wider hookset window as you level.
- Logbook —
/fishingshows level, XP, personal bests and the server record for each species. - Server-side rolls — the server picks the catch, size and value and checks the timing of every hookset and landing.
Dependencies
Installation
- Drop the resource into your resources folder and add
ensure rr-fishingto yourserver.cfgafter its dependencies. - Add the items. Copy the 35 items from
install/items.luaintoox_inventory/data/items.lua, and the icons frominstall/imagesintoox_inventory/web/images. Skip any item you already have under the same name. - Restart the server so ox_inventory picks up the new items. Progress is saved in character metadata and records in the resource's KVP store, so there is no SQL to run.
Fishing spots
Named spots are polygons in shared/zones.lua: Sandy Lake, House Lake, Dam Lake, Sandy River, the docks and canals, Vespucci Beach, the docks ocean and the restricted water around the carrier. A spot decides the habitat, and the habitat decides which species bite. Water outside the spots still works: inland water fishes as a lake, the coastline as surf, and a boat at sea is deep sea.

Dispatch
When a player lands a protected species, Config.PoliceAlert(src, coords, speciesLabel, zoneLabel) runs on the server (45% of the time by default). It sends the call to rr-mdt if that resource is running. Replace the function body to use ps-dispatch, cd_dispatch or your own dispatch.
